It is with deep sadness to announce the peaceful passing of James "Jay" R. Keeling of Vero Beach, Florida.  Jay left this world to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the age of 79.  He is survived by his daughter Toni Malias, son-in-law Mark Malias, and granddaughters Erica Houdyshell and Kristin Houdyshell.  His strength and positivity left a memorable impression on all who loved and cared for him.  Jay was born August 9, 1945 in Miami, Florida and called Vero his home for 50 years.  he was an honorably discharged Air Force veteran with a 35 year career with the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller.  Outside of his multiple hobbies over the years such as wood working, scuba diving, camping, and photography he was also a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Vero Beach Moose Lodge.  A graveside service will be held in the coming weeks and memorial contributions can be made to the VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach.
