James E. Moenkhaus, 78, of Vero Beach, FL passed away Sunday January 11, 2015 at his home.
He was born March 21, 1936 in Scranton, Pennsylvania the son of the late Rev. William L. Moenkhaus and Hertha Fritz. He had been a full-time resident of Vero Beach for 18 years having come from Cleveland, OH. Mr. Moenkhaus was in the insurance industry for over 40 years. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He attended Christ ByThe Sea United Methodist Church and was a member of Grand Harbor Golf and Beach Club.
Mr. Moenkhaus is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susanne Moenkhaus, three children; Kurt Moenkhaus of Vero Beach, Scot Moenkhaus of Chagrin Falls, OH and Brant Moenkhaus (Kris) of Greenwood, IN; six grandchildren, Terry and Christopher Moenkhaus of Chagrin Falls, OH, Daniel Moenkhaus of Cleveland, OH, Jackie Moenkhaus of North Royalton, OH, Eric and Madison Moenkhaus of Greenwood, IN. He is survived by a brother, Bob Moenkhaus (Karen) of Casper, Wyoming and sister-in-law, Fran Moenkhaus of Minnesota. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Bill Moenkhaus.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Christ ByThe Sea United Methodist Church, 3755 Hwy. A1A, Vero Beach, FL. There will be refreshments served immediately following the service.
