James Maxcy Pond, 76, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on July 17, 2016. He was born in Gainesville, Florida and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. Mr. Pond was well respected and knowledgeable in the citrus industry in South Florida. He was extraordinarily generous, kind hearted and will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife, Judith Pond; sons, Jonathan Pond and Grady Welchel; daughter-in-law, Ky Welchel; granddaughters, Taylor, Morgan and Grayson Welchel, all residing in Vero Beach; sister, Sara Ellis, and niece, Susan Ellis, both of Polk County as well as many cousins.
