James Taylor, 82, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026.
Born in Richmond, Kentucky, James was the son of the late George and Louise Taylor. He lived a life marked by dedication, service, and quiet strength. James proudly served his country in the United States Army Intelligence for 22 years, a career that reflected his commitment to duty and country. Following his military retirement, he continued his strong work ethic as a claims adjuster in Northern Virginia.
James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Frances Taylor. He is lovingly remembered by his stepdaughter, Angela Snyder of Vero Beach, and her husband, Richard Snyder; his grandson, Ryan Snyder, and his wife, Mackie Snyder; and his sister, Brenda Quinn of Tampa, and her husband, Bob Quinn. He is also survived by his nephews, Mike, Steve, and Joe Quinn.
A man of faith, James was a member of Community Church of Vero Beach, where he found fellowship and spiritual comfort.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street, Vero Beach, Florida. A reception will follow at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions in James’s honor to the Dementia Society of America (Dementia Society of America).
James will be remembered for his steady presence, his service to his country, and the love he shared with his family.
