Janet M. Galka, 64, died suddenly on February 6, 2009. She was born in Syracuse, NY, where she lived most of her life. She was a beautician and had own beauty salon for 30 years before retiring to Barefoot Bay, Florida in 2003. She was a member of Micco Community church in Barefoot Bay.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Galka of Barefoot Bay; daughter Terry (Jim) Morenus of Naperville, IL and son Michael (Allison) Matthews of Syracuse, NY; grandchildren, Brian, Bill and Lexi Morenus and Ryan, Morgan and Dean Matthews; brother Thomas Piatkowski; 4 stepchildren and 6 step-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Piatkowski.
Memorial service at Micco Community Church will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2009. Memorial donations to the food pantry can be made out to Micco Community Church, 9390 Central Ave, Micco, FL 32976.
