Janet C. Mericle-Mitsakos, 47, of Vero Beach, Florida, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Indian River Medical Center.

She was born December 31, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 39 years.

Mrs. Mitsakos graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1983.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Vero Beach.

Mrs. Mitsakos worked 17 years for the Italian American Civic Association of Vero Beach as the bar manager. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4374 and the Vero Beach Veterans.

She is survived by her husband, Peter Mitsakos; son, Steven Bergstrom of Vero Beach; daughter, Kayla Mericle of Vero Beach; mother, June L. McCandless; brothers, Michael Noel of Sebastian, FL and Wayne Noel of Kansas and sister, Kathy Koonce of Washington.

She was predeceased by her father, J.C. McCandless.

A memorial service will be held 4 pm, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church. A gathering will follow at the Italian American Civic Association, Vero Beach.
