IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet Lea
Mock
February 16, 1954 – July 25, 2025
Janet Lea Mock, 71, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the VNA/Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Born on February 16, 1954, in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Barrett Brungard.
Janet began her long and successful career with Piper Aircraft Company after relocating to Lakeland, Florida from Lock Haven. In 1985, she moved to Vero Beach and continued her advancement with the company where she served as the Senior Purchasing Agent for Piper. And while she was still recognized as a hardworking dedicated employee of 45 years she never truly slowed down at work or after hours.
A proud and active member of the Eagles Aerie, the Loyal Order of Moose, and the American Legion in Vero Beach, Janet was beloved for her sweet personality, kindness, and quirky sense of humor. While she was known as a hard worker, her heart always belonged to her family. She will be fondly remembered for her love of cooking, her enthusiasm for watching Chef Ramsay, and her well-known aversion to washing dishes.
She is survived by her sons: Brian P. (Melissa) Mock of Vero Beach, and their children William Tyson and Maverick Talen Mock; Daniel Mock of Vero Beach; and Michael (Kim) Mock of Lakeland, and their children Jonathan and Jarod Mock. She is also survived by her siblings: Barry (Shara) Brungard of Grant, Florida; Barbara Brungard of Titusville, Florida; and James (Beth) Brungard Jr. of St. Augustine, Florida.
The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 PM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach, followed by a celebration of life service at 4:30 PM, officiated by Rev. David Foster.
