Janet M. (Calvetti) Olt, age 74, of Vero Beach, Florida died at home surrounded by family on February 18, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on May 1, 1943 in Chicago, IL.   Jan was formerly a long-time resident of Pekin, Illinois.    She graduated from Hi-Fashion Beauty College and later owned her own salon in Pekin called Tam Tere.  Jan moved to Vero Beach Florida in 1984 and continued her career as an established hair stylist at many Vero Beach salons retiring from Calvetti & Company in 2003.

After retirement she pursued her love of the Lord and received an Associate Degree from the AFRC Bible College.  Her greatest accomplishment was being a single mother and raising two beautiful girls to become strong loving and well accomplished women.

She returned to Pekin, IL to care for her love of her life David Olt in 2003.  They later married in July of 2009.   Dave preceded her in death on March 3, 2010.   After Dave's passing she retired back to Vero Beach.

Survivors include her two daughters, Teresa (Calvetti) (Jeffrey) Penkwitz of Tomah, Wisconsin and Tammy Calvetti of Vero Beach, Florida.  Stepfather, Gerald Oltman and his special friend Mary Fox of Sebastian, Florida.  Sisters, Mary Comfort of Edinburg, IL and Jane Comfort of North Pekin, Illinois and uncle, Edward Wright of Satellite Beach, Florida. Besides her husband, David, she was preceded by death by her mother, Virginia Oltman and father, Greg Comfort.

Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home has handled Jan's cremation wishes.  There will be a private service held at a later date.  The family wishes memorial contributions are made to the American Cancer Society, 3375 20 ^th St. Ste 100, Vero Beach, Florida, 32960, in memory of Janet Olt.

Besides loving animals, her past times included gardening, reading and helping others in need. Jan will be remembered as a kind, generous, and loving person.   She had incredible Christian faith and was an inspiration to many.
