Jean Audrey Luckett, of Melbourne Beach, Florida, passed away on January 5, 2018.
She was a long-time resident of the Washington, DC, area. She was born in the city to Lottie and William Kirby on April 29, 1932. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1951. She met the love of her life, Gordon Luckett, when she was 13 and he was a 16-year-old usher at the Avalon Theater in Chevy Chase. They were married in 1950.
Jean leaves a large legacy of love, caring for her husband, family and friends. While she relished her home life, she enjoyed countless motorhome adventures with her husband and took over 40 cruises. She also loved to decorate her home for all the holidays, especially Christmas.
Jean is survived by her husband Gordon and her children Linda Taylor of Melbourne Beach; Donald Luckett of Silver Spring, MD.; Christina Rosenberger and husband Robert of Lake Wylie, SC; and Christopher Luckett and wife Sylvia of Huntingtown, MD. She also is survived by four grandchildren: Diana Rosenberger, Amy Crittenden and husband Mike, Liam Luckett, and Sam Luckett.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on February 17 at The Community Church of Vero Beach, FL. http://ccovb.org/ A second memorial service will be held in April at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Kensington, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Salvation Army.
