Jeanette Conquest, 90, of Vero Beach died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Indian River Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Born October 10, 1921 in Muncie, IN where she and her husband, Dewey, owned a grocery store and an insurance agency. She and her husband were heavily involved with local politics, and also held many political offices during their careers.

Jeanette had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1986.

She served many years on the Republican Executive Board of Indian River County. She had served on the board the Republican Women's Club, the Association of Professional Insurance Women, and Business and Professional Women. Her devotion to local and state politics resulted in Jeanette receiving the Key to the City presented by the governor.

She attended Ashbury Methodist Church in Vero Beach.

Survivors include her daughter, Judith Robertson of Vero Beach; two grandchildren, Victoria Martin and her companion, Marcus Rich of Sebastian and Kevan (Lora) Roberston of Greenwood, IN; three great grandchildren, Courtnee Keene of Sebastian, Ramona Savage of Greenwood, Josh Savage of Greenwood; and two great-great grandchildren, Seth Martin of Sebastian and Ashley Wagaman of Greenwood.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Conquest, and her parents, Perry and Iva Wilhelm.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Vero Beach.
