Jeanette Newton, 80, of Vero Beach died December 14th, 2016 with family by her side.

She was born to the late Fred and Rachel Newton on November 21st, 1936.

Jeanette was in public service until she retired. Jeanette was an active member in her community and she loved to travel, laugh, dance and tell the best jokes ever!!

Jeanette is survived by 6 of her children and 13 grandchildren:
Daughter, Shirley Jackson (Alvin) and grandchildren, Antonio Mansfield and Aaron Watson.
Daughter, Angela Mansfield and grandchildren Gordon Bryant (Kiki), Montavious Bryant, and Marvin Bryant.
Son, Jerome Johnson, and Son, Cluston Johnson (one grandchild)
Daughter, Vivian Hayes and grandchildren, Leah Freeman, Marlon Freeman, and Michael Freeman.
Daughter, LaDonna Willliams (Yasmin) and grandchildren, Chundra Johnson, Artavius Freeman, Nathaniel Freeman, and Tye Freeman.
She is also survived by siblings, Annette, who is her twin, Rosetta, Alneta, Rachael, Samuel, Ellen, and Brenda, and 17 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents, Fred and Rachel Newton, her son, Willie James Johnson, granddaughter Keonia Johnson, great-grandchild, Aden Freeman, and siblings, Gerald, Harold, Fred Jr., Mary, Margrete, Trunetta, Nancy, and Lemuel.

A visitation will be held Friday, December the 23rd from 11am-1pm at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home. The service will be held at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Mt. Zion AME Soup Kitchen of Gifford, Florida.
