Jeannie Weaver Rose of Vero Beach, Florida, formerly of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on July 12, 2015. Born on Feb 3, 1925, Jeannie led a wonderful life for 90 years. She was among the first women to earn a degree in architecture from The Pennsylvania State University in 1946 and was a loyal and exuberant alumna and supporter of the University ever since. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert G. Rose, II, and now is with him for eternity in peace. She is survived by two sons, Robert G. Rose, III (Juanita Gravely) of Roswell, Georgia and Richard D. Rose (Susan Molden) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania along with four grandchildren, James R. Rose of Raleigh, North Carolina, Rachael R Newcity of Atlanta, Georgia, Raleigh E. Rose of Roswell, Georgia and Robert J. Rose of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Jeannie was an architect for many years and enjoyed gardening and golf. She was a member of Christ By The Sea United Methodist Church, 3755 Highway A1A, Vero Beach, FL 32963 and the family asks that in lieu of flowers, gifts be sent there in her name. A service will be held at the Christ by the Sea Church on Friday, July 24 at 11 a.m. A private interment will be scheduled at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
