Obituary

Jeremiah Domenech Ellsworth, died at home on December 16, 2015, in Vero Beach, Florida after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on October 10, 1930 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He graduated from Mt. Hermon Academy and Kenyon College where he excelled in soccer and lacrosse becoming an All American lacrosse player. After serving as a pilot in the Air Force, he joined United Airlines and loved his job.

He resided primarily in California, Illinois and Virginia always with horses and dogs. When he retired, he moved to Vero Beach, Florida, built a house with a fenced yard to accommodate his pets, garden and fruit trees.

Jerry joined the Sea Oaks Beach and Tennis Club enjoying life with his many friends. He participated and organized numerous events including Sunday tennis get togethers on the porch, New Years Eve parties at his home and best of all TGTG beach parties at the end of every season. His sense of humor, endless stories and jokes brought smiles and laughter to all.

Traveling was also a passion. He organized numerous trips with close friends to Europe, Russia, Australia, Greece, South America, and Mexico. As Spanish was his native language, he was invaluable as a translator.
In his spare time he volunteered for the Humane Society and Habitat for Humanity building houses in Vero Beach, Guatemala, Romania and Portugal.

He is survived by his son, Kevin Ellsworth (Susan) in Dusseldorf, Germany, daughters, Lynn Ellsworth Duggan (William) in New York City, Kim Ellsworth Evans (Bud) in Warrenton, VA, two granddaughters, and his longtime companion, Rosamond Chadwick.

A Memorial Celebration will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity 4568 U.S. Highway 1, Vero Beach, FL, 32967 of Kenyon College 105 Chase Avenue, Gambier, Ohio, 43022.
