Jerry Ryan Dritenbas of Vero Beach, FL passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2021 at the age of 34. He was born on November 20, 1986 in Ashtabula, OH and was placed in the foster care system at the age of two. He was adopted in May of 1989 by John and Diana Dritenbas.

He spent his childhood growing up in Texas and Florida. Jerry enjoyed playing little league baseball and going out in the woods to play paintball with friends. He attended Vero Beach High School where he enjoyed singing in chorus and playing lacrosse. During the summers he went on trips with his church's youth group and toured with a statewide church youth choir called New Way Singers. He graduated from VBHS in 2006.

Jerry enjoyed helping others. He was certified in Phlebotomy in 2010. He earned his C.N.A. (Certified Nursing Assistant) license from Indian River State College in 2011. In 2017 Jerry pursued another of his passions and became a cook. He last worked as a line cook in West Palm Beach, FL.

Jerry is survived by his parents, John and Diana Dritenbas of Vero Beach, FL, his brother Brandon, sister-in-law Miranda, three nieces as well as other extended family members.

Jerry will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor, kind heartedness and loyalty to family and friends. In 2010 Jerry volunteered to be an organ donor and upon his death four people received new hope through his gift of life.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1p.m. at Cox- Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home with graveside burial service to follow at Crestlawn Cemetery.
