Jerry Lamar Fletcher, age 76, died Jan. 4, 2011, at Raulerson Hospital.
He was born May 19, 1934, in Arcadia to Thomas and Ellase, nee Brown, Fletcher. Growing up in Tampa, he attended Oak Park, Franklin and Hillsborough High School.
During the Korean War, he proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. After his discharge, he resided in New York where he eventually met and married the love of his life, Judy Tapley. They relocated to Okeechobee where they shared 41 years of married life.
He is survived by his wife Judy; sons, Jerry II, Robert, Daniel (Joan), and Douglas (Karen); grandchildren, Daniel, Elise, Haley, Mary, Kathleen, and Daniel; three great-grandchildren; and many cousins.
Visitation will held Monday, Jan. 10, from 4-6 pm at Oakview Baptist Church followed by the service at 10:00 am on Tuesday, Jan. 11. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
