Jerry "Bear" York, 56, of Vero Beach, FL passed away Friday January 2, 2015 at his home.

He was born February 18, 1958 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, the son of the late Paul and Docie York. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for 27 years, coming from Whitesburg, KY. Mr. York worked for Gracewood Fruit Company for many years as a mechanic. Mr. York was a Veteran having served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.

Mr. York is survived by three children; Justa York of Cowen, KY, Cody York of Ashland, KY and Tonia York Nagel of Semmes AL; one sister and two brothers; Helen York, Ernie York (Mary Kay) and James York (May Etta) all of Whitesburg. Two grandchildren; Hunter and Khloe York of Cowen, KY, his best four legged friend "Buck" and many other friends.

Services are under the direction of Cox, Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach, FL and Everidge Funeral Home in Whitesburg, Kentucky. On online guestbook may be signed at www.coxgifford.com.

Visitation is scheduled to be held at the Everidge Funeral Home on Thursday, January 8th with burial on Friday in the York Family Cemetery in Knott County, Kentucky.
