Jessica Lauren Smith, 17, of Vero Beach, Florida died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Shands Childrens Hospital in Gainesville, FL after an extended illness.
She was born March 21, 1990 in Vero Beach and was a lifelong resident.
Jessica was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. She enjoyed anything outdoors including camping, boating and four-wheeling.
Survivors include her mother and step-father Allison and Rodney Grass of Vero Beach; father and step-mother Mark and Tina Smith of Vero Beach; brother Matthew Smith of Vero Beach; step-brothers Benton Grass, Mason Grass and Michael Presnell, Jr. all of Vero Beach; step-sisters Brittany Presnell and Leona Presnell both of Vero Beach; paternal grandparents Laurent and Judy Smith of Vero Beach; maternal step-grandparents Imogene and Jerry Grass of Vidalia, GA and paternal step-grandparents Butch and Lola Bellefleur of Vero Beach.
Miss Smith was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Alan and Madeline Ryan.
Services: The family will receive friends 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 4 PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
