Grover James (Jim) Dunlap  was born to Carl and Florence (Monroe) Dunlap on June 22, 1929.  As a child of God, he was grateful for 90 years of life with family, friends and loved ones.  Those who knew him were blessed by his love of life, love of food, sense of humor, and enduring love for his wife of 63 years Sandra Mary Kulcsar Dunlap.  He died peacefully in hospice care surrounded by his daughters and caregiver on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 after the sharing of family stories and memories.

He graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Masters in Business Administration and from Purdue University with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He served in the Army during the Korean War with an honorable discharge. He married Sandra Mary Kulcsar who he met at Studebaker in South Bend Indiana. Jim and Sandy were married on August 28, 1954 and had five children: Pamela, Curtis (wife Elizabeth), Mark (wife Esther), Stuart (wife Lisa), and Anne Marie Dunlap.  He also delighted in his 15 grandchildren: Kathryne, Christina, Elizabeth, Kimberly, Patrick, Andrew, Jonathan, Priscilla, Abigail, Kacy, Coen and Liane Dunlap; and Lee (wife Abbey), Abby and the late Alexis Atwill, and one great grandchild, Aaliyah Marie Atwill.

Jim and Sandy had many adventures, but their biggest adventure was moving their family to Tokyo, Japan in 1969.  Jim was sent to Tokyo by Kearney and Trecker Machine Tools in Milwaukee, WI to start a joint venture with Toshiba.  They moved all five kids and a dog (Strooodle) to reside in the Japanese community. The family lived near the American School in Japan (ASIJ) where the children attended for four years.  One of the highlights of Jim's time in Japan was helping to organize the going away parties for friends who were moving back to the states or other countries. Jim was social and enjoyed his friends—he went through extra efforts to make memorable times.  The most remembered party was the Bode-Body Naper Caper where a group of friends kidnapped the Bode's in the middle of the night and took them to a party where they filled them with food and spirits. A good time, great stories, and wonderful memories that are still cherished over 45 years later were had by all!

After returning to the states after four short years, the family eventually relocated to Cincinnati, OH where Jim worked for Cincinnati Milacron.  Jim worked for several employers before his retirement. In 1998, Jim and Sandy retired to Vero Beach, Florida. Jim's favorite things included spending time with family, being a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He taught his children to be honest, have integrity, character, a good work ethic, love unselfishly, and do their very best. Jim and Sandy would have been married 66 years on August 28, 2019. At Sandy's passing in August 2017 Jim very openly said that he wanted to be with his wife.

A private service with military honors will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida.
