Joan Collins Callaway

Age 87 of Vero Beach passed away peacefully on June 24, 2019, at Grace Rehabilitation Center.

She was born to the late Dorothy May Hubert and the late David Benjamin Collins Jr. on October 25, 1931, in Easy Orange, N.J.  She graduated from Bloomfield H.S. in 1949.  Married the love of her life the late Donald L. Callaway on October 12, 1951, they settled in West Caldwell, N.J. to raise their family. Joan worked as an executive secretary for Nabisco and upon retirement moved with her husband to Vero Beach in 1993.  In addition to being a doting grandmother, Joan was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, participated in the Welcome Wagon of the Sixty Oaks Community, an avid bridge player, loved to travel, and cherished her lifelong friends, Maryanne Graham, and Shirley McCune.

Joan is survived by her children Robert (Margaret)of Albany, N.Y. and Suzanne Martin of Vero Beach. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on July 1, 2019 at 11 A.M. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2555 58th Avenue, Vero Beach, Florida.  A reception will be held immediately following the service at Fellowship Hall.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to:  Alzheimer & Parkinson Association of Indian River County Inc., 2300 5th Avenue, Suite 150, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
