Joanne Irene Giordano, 76, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away on July 7, 2026, in Vero Beach. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Joanne later moved to New Jersey, where she spent thirty-seven years before settling in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Joanne is survived by her daughter Dawn (Joseph) Smith and their children Travis (Elisa) Davis, Caitlyn (Paul) Schroeder, and daughter Denyse (Ciro) Gentile and their children Anthony and Amanda Gentile, and 7 great grandchildren.

Joanne was predeceased in death by her father Emilio Lombardi, her mother Josephine Lombardi (Wasilewski), husband Nicholas Giordano, sister Kathleen Cellura, brother William Watson, and cherished family member Richard Sulinski.

Joanne is also survived by her brothers Thomas Applegate, Michael (Mady) Applegate, and sisters Joyce (Ralph) Bracco, Patricia (Thomas) Kimball, Theresa (Doug) Bueschel, Marisa (Robert) Etchells, and beloved family members Dr. Ireneanne Novell, Maryanne Gorsky, and Patricia Walton.

Joanne dedicated 47 years to her calling as a licensed practical nurse, serving in numerous roles throughout the medical profession. Her compassion extended far beyond traditional nursing—she was a healing touch practitioner, a member of the medical disaster relief team, and a committed Franciscan. She also belonged to the Rosary Society and was deeply involved in her church and community, always offering her time, her faith, and her heart to those in need.

Known for her vibrant spirit, Joanne loved dressing up for any and every holiday, bringing laughter and light wherever she went. She was the life of the party, the one with a smile even in difficult moments, and someone whose kindness and generosity touched everyone—whether they knew her well or had only met her once.

Joanne will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her lifelong dedication to caring for others, and the joy she brought into the world simply by being herself.

 Visitation will be held from 11:30AM-1:30PM Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960. We request that you wear blue, Joanne’s favorite color.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2pm at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2000 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

In lieu of flowers, contributions as a memorial may be made to Disabled Veterans or The American Cancer Society.
