IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Johanna
Dulin
August 24, 1931 – September 7, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Johanna Dulin, who departed from this life on September 7, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Vienna, Austria, on August 24, 1931, Johanna lived a long and fulfilling life.
Johanna's early years were shaped by the events of World War II. She lived through the war in Austria, where her mother tragically lost her life in a U.S. air raid on Vienna. Despite the challenges she faced, Johanna showed remarkable resilience and courage. At the age of 18, she immigrated to the United States, seeking a new life and opportunities.
In the U.S., Johanna found a home in Detroit, where she worked for Ford Motor Company and grew to love the city that became her second home. An avid sports fan, Johanna watched Detroit Tigers baseball and Red Wings hockey religiously, cheering for her teams with passion and loyalty.
Throughout her life, Johanna was known for her grace, strength, and the warmth she extended to all who knew her.
Johanna is survived by her children, Ed (Cheri) Kosis and Sue Reaume; her beloved grandchildren Carly Kosis, Justin Kosis, Amber Priest, Alicia Castaneira, Albert Kosis, Brian Reaume, Trevor Drost, and Brittany Drost; as well as many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband Roy Dulin, her daughter Shirley Drost, her son Albert Kosis, daughter in law Jeri Kosis, and her granddaughter Amanda Kosis. Johanna will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
May she rest in peace.
