Vero Beach, Florida – John E. Banks Jr died Wednesday, November 30, 2022; he was 64.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30pm Saturday December 3, 2022, at the Newport Club: 2536 16th Ave., Vero Beach, Florida.

John was born in Trenton, New Jersey, but moved to Vero Beach, Florida with his family as a young boy. He is a graduate of St. Edwards, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and Florida State University College of Law. John was also a member of the Florida Bar. Though from the north, John was a true southerner. He worked on a ranch, picked oranges in the groves, drove a Dodge Ram, and even wrestled alligators for fun.

John was an avid outdoorsman and spent a great deal of time fishing for bass, snook, and redfish, and hunting wild hog and deer. With a lust for life, and all things in it, John enjoyed good food, sports, blonde women, country music, and dogs.

Most of all, John loved spending time and laughing with his family and friends, including Bill W. whom he'd known since 23 February 1979.

John is preceded in death by his father John E. Banks Sr and his mother Marie Whitehead Banks.

John is survived by his sister Marie (Jill) R. Banks, his brother-in-law Clifford B. Higgins, his niece Lauren Higgins Russell and her husband and daughter (Ryan and Claire Russell).
