John William Bowen, 80, of Okeechobee, FL died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port Saint Lucie, FL.
Mr. Bowen was born April 12, 1929 in Washington, D.C. and moved to Okeechobee 30 years ago from Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Prior to retirement he was the Owner/Operator of the Johnny Clam Bar in Ft. Lauderdale. Mr. Bowen was a member of the Church of God on 4th Avenue in Okeechobee, FL.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Dolores Bowen of Okeechobee, daughters Cathy Calvaria of Corpus Christi, TX and Vicky Chapman of Okeechobee, son Jack Bowen of Port Saint Lucie, eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister Dolores Mae Bowen.
Services: Visitation will be held from 11:00AM -1:00PM, Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Church of God with a funeral service being held at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Okeechobee.
