John P. Dezzutti, 91, of Vero Beach, FL died Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Dezzutti was born March 26, 1917 in Farmington, IL and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1945, coming here from Peoria, IL.
He had worked as a corporate pilot for Piper in Vero Beach, was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Mr. Dezzutti was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach and the Vero Beach Masonic Lodge No. 250 F & AM where he had been a Master Mason and a 32nd Degree Mason. He also was a former president of the Indian River County Volunteer Fire Department..
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Betty Dezzutti of Vero Beach; a daughter Nancy S. Bucklew of Boca Raton, FL, a son John P. Dezzutti, III of Lakeside, CT, and six grandchildren.
Services: The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with Masonic Honors at 7 PM. A life celebration service will take place 10 AM, Friday, March 13, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, Vero Beach with Dr. Charles Lever officiating.
