John L. Emrick's Obituary
John L. Emrick, 70, of Vero Beach, FL died Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Emrick was born November 30, 1938 in Williamsport, PA and moved to Vero Beach 28 years ago from Minneapolis, MN.
He had worked for the City of Minneapolis Police Department, retiring after 22 years of service, and then worked for the City of Sebastian Police Department where at one time he served as the interim Chief of Police. Mr. Emrick had served in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years Delores Emrick of Vero Beach; two sons David Emrick of Bethlehem, PA and John Emrick of St. Paul, MN; daughter Kimberly Garay of Sauk Rapids, MN; two sisters Helen Cryder of Lock Haven, PA and Mary Ellen Samela of Forest Lake, MN; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services: A private celebration of life service will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach, Florida.
