John M. Finnigan, 87, of Vero Beach died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Isles of Vero.
Mr. Finnigan was born September 24, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY. He had been a resident of Spanish Lakes, Fort Pierce for 25 years, and then the Isles of Vero for 5 years.
Prior to his retirement he worked as a supervisor for the New York Telephone Company.
He served in the United States Army during WWII.
He was a member of the New York Telephone Pioneers, and the Italian American Club of Vero Beach.
Survivors include his sons Jack Finnigan of Coram, NY, Kevin Finnigan of Fire Island, NY, Mark Finnigan of Lancaster, PA, and Bob Baber of West Virginia; daughters, Ellen Donnelly of Jamesport, NY, Number Four of Long Island, NY, Sheila Sweeney of East Rockaway, NY, Jill Peterson of Colorado; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife of 30 years, Margaret; 2nd wife of 28 years, Roberta; son Michael; and granddaughter, Sara.
Services are planned for a later date.
