John Louis Gleason, 83, of Vero Beach, FL died suddenly Monday, October 13, 2008 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Gleason was born May 27, 1925 in Bennington, VT and moved to Vero Beach twenty-five years ago from Sandusky , Ohio.
Prior to his retirement he was a supervisor for the United States Government in Ohio and Michigan for thirty-two years.
He served in the United States Army during WWII as a paratrooper. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and numerous metals.
He was a member at St. Helen Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Mildred (Millie) of Vero Beach; son Paul J. Gleason of Phoenix, AZ ; brother Frank Gleason of Sandusky, Ohio; sister Margaret LaCroix of Bennington, VT; two grandson and one step grandson.
Services: A memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at St. Helen Catholic Church with military honors provided by VFW Post 3918 of Vero Beach.
