Obituary

John Fredrick Kisthart, 90, of Fort Pierce, Fla., formerly of Scranton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at Broadmoor Assisted Living.

Born in Scranton on July 2, 1926, he was the son of the late Clarence and Kathleen Kisthart. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor (McAndrew) Kisthart. Fred attended Holy Rosary School before enlisting in the Army. A proud World War II veteran, he was honorably discharged in 1946. Before his retirement, he was employed by Garrett Buchanan Co.

Fred was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. In 1992, he and Eleanor moved to Florida to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

In addition to Eleanor, he is survived by his three children, Ann Blasko and husband, Robert, Scranton; Joan, Whitman, Mass.; and Jack and wife, Betsy, Port St. Lucie, Fla. Fred also has three grandchildren, Shelby, Philadelphia; James, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Kathleen, Port St Lucie. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Oricht, Washingtonville, N.Y.; along with nieces and nephews.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the Broadmoor Assisted Living and Treasure Coast Hospice for being there to help our dad. We will be forever grateful for the love, kindness and compassion shown to "Mister Fred" and his family.

Private burial will take place in the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
