Dr. John Louis Lenzen age 91 passed away on December 6, 2012 at Clare Bridge of Vero Beach, FL.
John was born on September 11, 1921 to Edward and Clara Lenzen in Webster Groves, Missouri. John served proudly in the United States Army as an officer in World War II. Dr. Lenzen enjoyed Family Practice in Ft. Lauderdale, FL from 1953 to 1989. In his time he delivered many babies, performed surgeries and cared for the needs of many families.
John loved many things in his life none where more important than his wife, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He truly enjoyed the mountains of North Carolina and the community of Lake Toxaway. He was a devoted Catholic and attended Holy Cross for more than 28 years. Had interests in reading Western Novels, Fishing, the Outdoors, and raising Orchids.
John leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 57 years Lois Lenzen of Vero Beach, FL; daughter Linda Treiber of Orlando, FL; sons Dr. Jonathan Lenzen of Halifax, W.V., and Christopher Lenzen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 6 Grandchildren; 3 sisters Polly Lenzen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Frances Cassilly of Ft. Myers, FL., and Catherine Schroer of Kansas City, Kansas.
A Celebration of John's life will be held at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in John's name go to The Lake Toxaway Community Center 81 Slick Fisher Road Lake Toxaway, N.C. 28747.
