John Roby Poeppelmeyer
John R. Poeppelmeyer, 83, of Vero Beach, FL., passed away on September 16, 2012 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Fl.
Mr. Poeppelmeyer was born June 22, 1929 in Rockford, IL and moved to Vero Beach, FL 15 years ago, coming from Gahana, OH.
He served in United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Prior to retirement he was an employee in Public Relations for the Electric Co. in Columbus, OH and was the sports information director for Capital University in Columbus, OH.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Katherine Poeppelmeyer of Vero Beach, FL; sons and wives Darrell R. Poeppelmeyer of Ft. Wayne, IN, Colen Poeppelmeyer of Columbus, OH and Jason Poeppelmeyer of Columbus, OH. Six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Amy Poeppelmeyer.
