John W. Wiedemeier, 70, of Fort Pierce, passed away on Thursday, October 04, 2012 at the Indian River Medical Center.

Mr. Wiedemeier was born May 23, 1942 in Michigan. He had been a resident of Fort Pierce since 1994, coming from Pensacola.

He served in the United States Navy.

Prior to his retirement he worked as an Air Traffic Controller for 40 years.

John was a parishioner at Saint John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. He was a devout Roman Catholic, and was a very prayerful man.

John loved spending time with his family.

He was an avid golfer, and spent time boating and camping.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Karen M. Wiedemeier; son John Wiedemeier of Liverpool, CA; daughters Deanna Larsen of Hollister, CA and Diane Misenheimer of Charlotte, NC; and 6 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 4 grandchildren.
