IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Johnny Harold
Johnson
August 23, 1938 – November 30, 2022
On Wednesday, November 30th, Johnny Harold Johnson, loving husband and devout Christian, passed away at age 84. He was born at home in Vero Beach in 1938 to John and Jenny Johnson— the same home he resided in at the time of his death.
Johnny was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, where his parents were pioneer members. His dedication to the Lord was unwavering — studying the Word for hours each day. His faith was an inspiration to those around him, influencing many people to follow Christ by his example.
As a young man, Johnny worked at Elliott Sign Company. Later in life, he was an Indian River county citrus grower — totally committed to the industry. Johnny had an amazing work ethic. Everything he did, he tried to do to perfection — and he expected the same from others. This work ethic was an example to his family and helped to form them as they matured.
At age 38, Johnny married Charlotte Lund and together they had a full life with family, friends, some traveling and many church activities. In recent years, as his health declined Charlotte was Johnny's loving and devoted caregiver.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 45 years, Charlotte, brother in law Edward Elliott, sister in law Margaret Lund, nieces Sharon Pike (Andy), Beth Keith, Lori Callahan and Jeanette Lund, and nephew Scott Elliott (Jan). He is also survived by great nieces Jennifer Scholler (Jim), Kristen Humphreys (Ryan), Lauren Keith, Katie Keith, great nephews Kyle Elliott (Sierra) and Austin Elliott (Kate).
Johnny was predeceased by his parents, John and Jenny Johnson, sister Ruth Elliott and brother in law Leonard Lund.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 10th, at Grace Lutheran Church at 11:00 am, with visitation immediately preceding at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers friends may wish to donate to Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Humane Society of Vero Beach.
