Joseph D. Duelk, Sr., 90, of Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Duelk was born July 16, 1918 in The Bronx, NY and moved to Vero Beach 5 ½ years ago from Monroe, NY.
Prior to his retirement he had worked for the New York City Transit Authority. He was of the Catholic faith and a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Army.. Mr. Duelk was a member of the Ancient Order of Hebernians Joseph Duelk Division and the American Legion Post # 488 in Monroe.
Survivors include his four daughters Virginia Weihbrecht of Vero Beach, Mary Milko of Beltsville, MD, Ruth Matos of Middleton, NY and Nancy Smith of Bloomingberg, NY; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Helen B. Duelk and son Joseph D. Duelk, Jr..
Services: Mr. Duelk will be transferred to the Flynn Memorial Chapel in Monroe for visitation with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at St. Marys Catholic Church in Washingtonville, NY followed by interment in St. Marys Cemetery.
