Joseph J. Gerber, 85, of Bloomfield Hills Michigan, entered into eternal rest, Saturday, September 10, following a brief illness. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and A.J.Gerber, and his sister, Ellen Reed. He is survived by the love of his life Peg Gerber, to whom he was married for 62 years. Children Mary Margaret (Lou) Donato, of Birmingham, MI; Bill (Kathy) Gerber, of Omaha NE; Grandchildren Anne Marie and Joe Donato; Andrew (Nina) Gerber, Ellen Gerber, Gregory (Tricia) Gerber, Kathleen Gerber. Great grandchildren Henry, Liam, Mia and James. Also many relatives and close friends. Joe was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 19, 1931. He grew up in Detroit, MI and was a proud graduate of U of D Jesuit High School in 1949. He received his B.A. in Accounting from the University of Detroit in 1953. Joe earned his CPA and was a Partner at Plante Moran for most of his 40 year career. Joe lived his life as a "Man for Others" giving of his time, talents and treasure to his church, community, family, friends and the many he mentored throughout his life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon on Friday, October 7, at St. Regis Church in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
