Joseph S. Kubik, 91, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away Wednesday. He was born on December 17th, 1930 to Connie and Irma Kubik in Newark, Ohio. He graduated from St. Francis High School and served in the U. S. Navy for 2 years. Joe married the late Maureen Moore in 1952 and they moved to Coshocton then Warren, Ohio. The relocated to Vero Beach in 1979. He was in the insurance business and owned his own agency for many years following his service in the Navy.

Joe held a private pilot's license and loved to fly. He was an avid bass and offshore fisherman. He wrote a weekly column for the Press Journal on fishing during the 90's. He had a unique penchant for making a 3 pound bass look like a 6 pound bass by holding it closer to the camera.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Maureen Lee Moore and son, Terry. Joe is survived by his son Tom (Pam) of Charlotte. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in Newark at a later date.
