Joseph John McByrne, Jr., 88 of Vero Beach, FL passed away March 11, 2016 at Indian River Medical Center.

He was born July 31, 1927 in New York, NY to the late Joseph John Sr. and Marguerite McByrne.

Mr. McByrne was a veteran of the United States Navy. Prior to his retirement, he was an electrician, served as a business representative in lower Manhattan and Queens and an Executive Board Member for Local Union #3 IBEW in NY, NY.

He retired in 1993 and relocated to Vero Beach, he was a member of the VFW Post 3918, American Legion Post 39, Elks Lodge and the Catholic Council of E.W. He was very active and President in the Allied Union Social Club Local #3 in Queens, NY.

He leaves his memories to be cherished by his wife of 65 years, Lily Kyllikki McByrne; daughter, Irene Ingrid (Richard) Laakkonen of Flushing, NY; sons, Joseph John (Kathie) McByrne III of Newtown, PA and James Michael (Ginni) McByrne of Sullivan, NH; 8 grandchildren, James, Kevin, Krysta, Ryan, Scott, Karl, Samantha and Erik; 2 great-grandchildren, Kevin Jr and Cailey; brother, John McByrne and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Mary Dolores.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
