Joseph A. Mickey, Jr passed away on November 30, 2018. Joe celebrated his 100th birthday at his home in Vero Beach, FL in September; his last few months were spent with his family in New Jersey.

Born Sept 16, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA, he graduated Southeast Catholic HS and served in the US Navy during WWII. He married his love, Rita Marie (McCloskey) in 1940 and they were married until her death in 2003. They resided in Broomall, PA, summered in the house he built in Sea Isle City, NJ, where they lived after his retirement from Curtis Publishing Co. Joe then created Rojo Contractors and traveled throughout the US and beyond, with several trips to his favorite, Hawaii. Joe enjoyed living in Vero Beach for the past 30 years.

He is predeceased by his wife, Rita, his son, Joseph III, and his daughter, Rita Mendel, and is survived by his children Joan Mickey, SSJ, Maureen (Spencer) Cohen, Robert (Helen Clymer) Mickey, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren and sisters, Mary and Rita Mickey.

A  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Our Lady of the Angels, Cape May Court House, NJ. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA a later date.
