Joseph "Joe" Piazza, 82, died peacefully Tuesday, August 2nd, at the hospice house of Vero Beach, with his family by his side.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 17th, 1934. He attended Lindenhurst High School where he learned to play the slide trombone and trumpet. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Marine Corps marching band. Joe was the owner of Joe's Organ Shop and played the piano and organ. He was a member of the Italian American Civic Association, Italian American War Veterans, and the Vero Beach Computer Group.
He is Survived by his wife, Joan Correll Piazza of Vero Beach; children, Lori Piazza Johnson of Vero Beach, Glen Piazza of Sebastian, Judyth Piazza of Houston; five grandchildren, Jenae Scarborough, Zachary Rider, Tucker Joines, Hillary Joines, and Kristy Maxson; two great grandchildren, Jaxson Rider and Olive Scarborough. Joe was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brooke Nicole Johnson.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 20th, 11:00am at the 20th Ave Church of God. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the 20th Ave Church of God.
