Obituary

Joseph Michael Quigley, 88, of Vero Beach, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Indian River Medical Center. Mr. Quigley was born July 5, 1924 in Taunton, MA. He had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1985, coming from Taunton. He served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII as an infantryman in the Pacific Theater. Prior to his retirement he worked as a telephone tester for the New England Telephone Company for forty years. He was of the Catholic faith, and attended St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Elaine Quigley; daughter, Barbara Agee (Peter Kopcych) of Vero Beach; son, Joseph J. Quigley (Patricia King) of Taunton, MA; daughter, Joan Carty of Ipswich, MA; sister, Mary Quarrey of Shrewsbury, MA; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Heckman and Frances Maynard. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice at 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
