Joseph Steinkerchner, 86, died February 13, 2009, at his daughters home in Sebastian, FL, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Buffalo, NY in 1922 and lived in several states before settling in Vero Beach, FL. Joe was a 25 year resident of Countryside in Vero Beach, FL prior to sharing his time between his two daughters homes.
Joe was a Sales Representative for Ludell Manufacturing in Milwaukee, WI. He also owned several small businesses including a dry cleaning store, a welding shop, and a manufacturing plant-all in Atlanta, GA.
Joe was a World War II veteran who served in the Army Air Force. He was a Sergeant for the 450th bombardment group, the Cottontails, stationed in Manduria, Italy.
Joe was predeceased by the love of his life, Mary, his wife of 56 years as well as his only son, Lee. Survivors include daughters Judy (David) Bowes of Alexandria, VA; Jane (Stan) Pierce of Sebastian, FL; granddaughters Lauren and Leigh Bowes.
