Joseph A. Jerry Turner of Vero Beach, FL died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Indian Rier Estates Medical Center.
Born May 14, 1915 in Swarthmore, PA, he attended George School and Swarthmore College. He moved to Vero Beach in 1981 from Columbus, OH.
Mr. Turner was a retired Vice-President of Turner Construction Company , nationwide building contractors, founded in New York City in 1902.
Survivors include his wife Mary; two sons J. A. Turner III of Bethesda, MD and Charles Carr Turner of Denver, CO; two daughters Jan Gumnison of Sacramento, CA and Margaret McGlauflin of Plymouth, NH; a brother Howard Sinclair Turner of Newtown Square, PA and twelve grandchildren.
At the request of the family there will be no repose or visitation. In lieu of flowers, for anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution, the family suggests the First Presbyterian Church, 520 Royal Palm Boulevard, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
