Josette
Knight
Jan 6, 1923 — Jul 12, 2018
Port St. Lucie
On July 12, 2018, we lost a most remarkable person, our Mother Josette Knight. She was the pillar of the family, the person that you could always depend on for support, advice and love, during both good as well as difficult times. She was able to find that little kernel of goodness in those who walked with her through life. She was a person of great sensitivity and had a passion for what the world had to offer. She delighted to be around family, friends and strangers alike.
She always gave of herself without expectation of anything in return. When relocating from country to country and from one continent to another, she made sure the transition was safe and successful. She dedicated her life to her husband Alfred, and her surviving three daughters, Joyce, Patricia and Paula.
As a child growing up, she read one book a day, loved school, always ready to absorb all she could. She was an avid sportsperson, excelling in swimming, tennis and other sports. In her later years when not playing sports, she loved to play and teach bridge and many other games.
Josette enjoyed her working career as a school teacher, and later as a copy editor in the publishing industry. Fluent in five languages, she translated publications from foreign languages to English.
After becoming a widow, she traveled the world, meeting many people, some becoming life long friends. Josette was a resident of Port Saint Lucie, Florida for the past fifteen years.
