Joy A. Conboy, 87, of Vero Beach passed away August 13, 2020.
She was born August 20, 1932 in Utica, New York to the late Osmund Marley and Anna P. Sauerhafer Marley.
She was a 1950 graduate of New Hartford High School, where she was involved in many activities. She served as a Drum Majorette for the South Utica Drum and Bugle Corps and later became a baton twirling instructor. Joy was employed as a bank teller prior to becoming a teacher assistant teaching at Whitesboro Elementary School.
She enjoyed life to the fullest extent and had many hobbies such as water and snow skiing, golf, dancing and she was alway ready to socialize and party with her many friends.
In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her son, William J. Conboy; a granddaughter, Brooke Carissimo; and two sisters, Eileen Phelps & Merle Dorrough.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, William E. Conboy; two children, Sharon Carissimo and Lawrence C. Conboy and wife Kandy; a brother, Edwin Marley; daughter-in-law, Sandy Yates; six grandchildren, Larry, Kasey, Kerry, Ryann, Zachery & Stacey; and seven great-grandchildren, Kamry, Logan, Hudson, Hunter, Gage, Brody, Madox & Dayne; and many other loving family & friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held, Thursday, October 1st at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at a later date.
