Joyce Jeanne Gentile, 89, of Vero Beach, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Indian River Medical Center.

Mrs. Gentile was born January 17, 1924 in Chicago, IL. She had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1961, coming from Chicago.

Prior to her retirement she worked for Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach for 12 years. Before that she and her husband Frank were the owner and operators of the Tower Restaurant and the V.I.P. Restaurant in Vero Beach.

She was of the Catholic faith.

She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Vero Beach; the Fraternal Order of Police in Vero Beach; the American Legion in Fort Pierce; and the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #1541 in Vero Beach.

Joyce volunteered at the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County.

Survivors include her son, Frank N. Gentile of Fort Pierce; daughters, Patricia Turnage of Vero Beach, Linda Hearndon of Vero Beach and Gale Gentile of Vero Beach; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Frank Gentile.
