Obit: Judy Hendrix Malone
Judy Hendrix Malone, 62, of Vero Beach, FL died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the VNA/Hospice House.
Mrs. Malone was born September 29, 1948 in the Fish Creek community of Rockmart, Georgia and moved to Vero Beach in 2009 from Bay County, FL.
She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, BS Early Childhood Education; Georgia State University, M.ED; and Florida State University, ED.L. Mrs. Malone began teaching in 1969 and taught in Georgia for 18 years and 20 years in Bay County, Florida when she retired June 2009 and moved to Vero Beach, FL. She was known to have a way of inspiring the young students to always do their best in whatever they did.
She was a member of the FAN Club, Alpha Delta Kappa, Epsilon Delta Chapter, ABCE, Association National Education, Association Board Member Education Foundation of Indian River County where she served on the grant committee and the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include her mother Sarah Irene Hendrix; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Malone; grandson, Jackson Malone; granddaughter, Mary Kathryn Malone; sister Charlene Tolbert and brother Steve Hendrix.
She is preceded in death by her husband Steve Malone, son Clint Malone, father Charles Hendrix, and grandparents Albert and Rita Hendrix.
A memorial service will be held 10 AM, December 21, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach with Dr. Charles Lever officiating. A memorial service will be held in Rockmart, Georgia at a later date.
