Katherine J. Vernam, 91, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Grace Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Rochester, NY and moved to Vero Beach in 1992 from Rochester with her husband James.

Prior to retirement Katherine worked as a Medical Lab Technology Supervisor.

She is survived by daughters Kathleen (Jean), and Laurie, son Greg (Carol) Vernam, daughter in law Sue Vernam and grandchildren Monica and Christian Vernam. She is predeceased by her husband, Jim and her son, Marc.

Kaye loved life and her family, and was loved in return. Her relaxation of choice was time spent at sea on a cruise ship. After retirement, she enjoyed a second career as a collector and dealer of antiques in upstate New York, and logged thousands of hours as a volunteer Auxillian at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

Her last few years were lived at Grace Rehabilitation Center where she was well cared for by the entire staff.
