It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Katheryn Elizabeth Roman on November 15, 2024, after a brief illness.  Katheryn was born on May 31, 1929 to Enoch G. Doores and Maude L. Doores in Sunset Hills, Va.  Katheryn graduated in 1946 from Herndon High School, Herndon, Va. where she was on the women's basketball team. After graduating she worked at the American Red Cross in Washington, DC.  In 1948 she met her beloved husband of 55 years Robert (Bob) Roman who predeceased her. They lived many years in Norfolk, VA retiring to live on a golf course in Virginia Beach.  Katheryn was an avid golfer who participated in Ladies Golf Associations and Tournaments.  In October 2007 she moved to Indian River Estates, a retirement community in Vero Beach, Florida, to join two of her sisters.  Katheryn's six sisters and two brothers predeceased her.  She is survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Katheryn kept in touch with them always remembering their birthdays and other memorable events. Katheryn will be buried at Bealton, VA along side her parents.
