Kenneth George Beittenmiller, 87, of Vero Beach died Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Indian River Medical Center.

Mr. Beittenmiller was born June 27, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA to Henry and Blanche Beittenmiller. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for 20 years, coming from Tampa.

Kenneth and his wife owned taverns in Pennsylvania for over 30 years.

He served in the United States Navy during WWII, where he received a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Marie; daughters, Janis Mattos and Lynne Wise; son, Kenneth Beittenmiller; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Harry.

No services are planned at this time.
