Kirsten Burcham, wife of Thomas Burcham, died in her Vero Beach home after a long struggle with brain cancer on November 18, 2009. She lives in glory with her Savior and the many saints who have gone before her.
Kirsten Kaye Branstad was born to the Rev. Raymond and Lois Branstad on October 25, 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She attended schools in Minneapolis and Mankato, Minnesota and graduated with an A.A. degree from Bethany Lutheran College. She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Lee Burcham on May 6, 1978. Kirsten devoted her entire life to caring for others. She lived for Tom, and for their children, Jason and Lisa (Mrs. Theodore Petersen). After many years of living all around the United States, Kirsten and Tom settled in Vero Beach where Kirsten cared for her aging father in their home for several years. The highlight of her last two years was her grandson, Wesley Paul Petersen.
Kirsten is preceded in death by parents. She will be missed by her husband, Tom, her children Jason and Lisa, her son-in-law Ted and grandson, Wes along with Toms parents Mr. and Mrs. Don Burcham of Vero Beach and Kirstens three sisters, one brother and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. Blessed be her memory.
Services: The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM, Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church in Vero Beach, FL followed by a Life Celebration at 3 PM with Pastor Timothy Schmeling officiating.
