Born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late James E. Moenkhaus and his wife, Susanne L (nee Ellison). He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline E. Moenkhaus, and brothers Scot R. and Brant W. Moenkhaus

Kurt lived in Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota and most of the time in Ohio until he moved to Florida in 2005. He graduated from the University of Akron in Ohio, with a degree in Industrial Management in January of 1987. He worked in Akron, Ohio for Roadway Trucking and was the Founder of Pivot Logistic Systems. Later he worked for Leaseway Automotive Division in Detroit. In 1994 he became an owner in a successful Management Company, MMGI, in Cleveland until retiring due to a long standing illness.
